Imagine your own digital DNA.  Completely unique.  Now imagine that rather than twisted base pairs, the core of your DNA is a highly sophisticated encryption code that allows you to participate in rich relationships right across the world in complete safety.

Like DNA, this encryption code is capable of self replication – with every replication completely compatible with both each other, and your main DNA ‘unit’. Kind of like a two-private-key security system on steroids.

Next, imagine that in addition to uniquely identifying you, this DNA is able to imprint its key and your terms on almost any digital file, and once imprinted, controls all forms of access and use of that file. Shifting metaphors slightly, this DNA acts like a virus by suborning the core functionality of any given file type to regulate its control.

MICA works much like this, and more. It is a unique identity and workflow system that has at its core encryption and a rich ontological processor. It permits a completely new form of interaction with all things digital, such that rather than being blind files, once created, virtually any digital file will forever recognize the original MICA as its creator and sole controller. The MICA does this by replicating itself and imprinting on said file. This replicated imprint contains, automatically, the access protocols standard for that given MICA. Importantly, these protocols can be revised to almost unlimited combinations of access and/or performance. Just as importantly, MICA is only recognizable by its owner and any intended users – to anybody else it is meaningless and cannot be cross-referenced in any way to provide any information about online behavior patterns.
